A total of 285,363 foreign tourists entered Nepal in the first seven months of 2022, indicating a strong recovery in the country's tourism sector compared to the 230,085 tourists who visited the country in 2020 and 150,962 in 2021.
As per the latest data unveiled by Nepal Tourism Board today, the country welcomed a total of 44,462 tourists by air in July, a drop of 24.4 per cent compared to the same month in 2019, when 58,811 tourists had visited Nepal.
A total of 17,299 Indian tourists entered Nepal last month, which was an increase of 10.9 per cent compared to the number of Indian nationals who had visited Nepal in July of 2019. Similarly, the country received 1,874 tourists from Bangladesh, 395 from Pakistan, 219 from Sri Lanka, and 193 from Bhutan.
