Trekking in Manaslu Region The immense breathtaking Himalaya landscapes of Manaslu and Himalchuli Peak go far beyond our imaginations. The two-horned massif of Manaslu at (8156m) is a stunning example of how beautifully the Himalayas are carved and leaves visitors astonished. Ganesh Himal at (7406m) can also be viewed clearly from this exotic area. Himalchuli at (7893m), which raises an incredible 7000m from the Budhi Gandaki one site and Marsyangdi River are other sites some of the other magnificent and beautiful gifts of the Manaslu region. Added to this is the mind-blowing Tsum Valley whose concealed beauty is surrounded by these gigantic Himalayas with colorful and vibrant villages & some unique and interesting cultures and traditions that are mostly Hindu and Buddhist influenced with flaunting flora and fauna, vivid butterflies, and some cute and shy red pandas too.
Despite the beautiful and soothing views of Manaslu and Ganesh Himal, they have always been neglected because the adjacent regions have always been mostly preferred. This region has its own unique beauty that should not be missed…but Manaslu is now turning out to be a ‘rising star’…and the Tsum Valley has become a virtual crowd-puller…
Not many trekkers have discovered the exquisiteness of this region which falls at the east of Annapurna which makes this area a true adventure. Surrounded by River Budhi Gandaki to the west, the zone consists of two unique cultural prospects: Gorkha, which is the innate seat of the Shah dynasty and the holy temple of Manakamana. The trek starts at around 1000m and we walk up to 5200m observing the mesmerizing beauty of plants such as pine, rhododendron, and wildlife that include barking deer, pika, and Himalayan marmots. We hear many birds chirping around such as pheasant, raven, and chough during the trek. We come into contact with the unique culture and traditions of communities of Tibetan origin, Gurungs, and Tamangs. The local’s hospitality leaves us emotionally amazed & touched.
September to December and March to May is the perfect time to hike in this region. Teahouses accommodation is available during the trek. It is comfortable and clean but It is less developed than Annapurna Circuit or Everest Base camp.
