Poon Hill Sunrise Trek is an easy moderate trek that takes you to the hill station of the Ghorepani Poon Hill, which offers an amazing sunrise and sunset view from Poon Hill. Poon Hill Sunrise Trek called the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek too begins after the short scenic drive from Pokhara to Hille via Nayapul. Then you head to Ghorepani following the bank of the Modi River. You traverse through the dense subtropical forest, rhododendron forest and bamboo bushes, patchwork of valleys, enjoying the beautiful high waterfalls and mountain views. In the forest, you see the various birds, and playful Langur (black-faced monkey) and enjoy the chirping sound of the birds. From the Poon hill, you observe the dazzling sunset and sunrise view in the mountains. You visit Gurung and Magar villages and enjoy their warm greeting and hospitality. ✔Poon hill sunrise Time

Sunrise time in Poon Hill depends on the month. In January sunrise at poon hill begins at 7:00 AM and it gradually gets earlier and reaches around 5 AM in June. After June, sunrise time slightly increases reaching around 6:45 in December. This difference in times allows trekkers to experience the stunning Himalayan sunrise at different times throughout the year.

Upon your arrival to Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), you will be met by a Beyond The Limits Treks Representative and transferred to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel. B.B.

Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara early in the morning around 6 AM on a Tourist Sofa Bus. On the way, there will be Breakfast and lunch. If there is no traffic along the way, we will reach Pohara around 3 p.m. After checking in to the hotel and refreshments, we have time to walk around the Lakeside. It is a very nice place, and you can visit Davies Falls and Gupteswor Cave. Overnight at the hotel. B.B.

Note: If you like to take a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara (23 minutes) that is also possible but extra cost would be applied.

If you would like to take a private Scorpio jeep to Pokhara that is also possible with extra fees applied. 

We will have our breakfast at 7:00 a.m.Then drive One to  Hille by private jeep of sharing Jeep it depends on your package and trek to Tikhe Dhunga 1525m and then begin our Trekking with a steep climb to Ulleri for about 2 hrs. Ulleri is a large Magar village at 2070m. overnight lodge (Breakfast Lunch and dinner )

Like the previous day, we will have our breakfast at 7:00 AM Then the trail continues to ascend more gently, through fine forests of oak & rhododendron towards Banthanti at 2250m. Then we make our trek towards Nangethanti for 1 hour & 30 minutes ( 2460m.) After an hour & half of walking, we reach Ghorepani at 2775m. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.

We will get up early in the morning, and hike to Poon Hill before sunrise. Today is the Highlight of the Trek From Poon hill you will see a superb view of the sunrise, and a panoramic view of the Himalayas, including  Mt Nilgiri, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Fishtail, and so on. After visiting Poon Hill, we will come back to Ghorepani, have a hot breakfast, and continue trekking to  Tadapani. It is a nice Trek with a big Rhododendron Forest, you may see many birds and wild animals arriving at Tadapani and overnight at the Tea house. 

 From Tadapani we descend through forests and then the trail eases as we reach Ghandrunk (2000m), which is the village of the Gurung people. We have 3 Hors Trek and have Lunch at Ghandruk and visit local people's homes, Gurung Museum & watch the documentary prepared by ACAP. then drive to Pokhara for one hour & 30 minutes. It depends on your interest in private Transportation  (you have to pay extra ) or public Transportation ( in package including ). Drive to Pokhara and overnight in Pokhara. Trekking will be over. Overnight at the hotel. B.L.D.

You will drive back to Kathmandu reminiscing the beautiful trek you did.

Poon Hill Trek is considered easy to moderate trekking suitable for beginners and families with basic fitness levels. However, if you want to level up your difficulty you can add other places like Khopra Danda or Muldai View Point. 

Trekkers will require an Annapurna Conservation Area Permit- ACAP to do this trek which we will arrange for you in Kathmandu. Your name and passport details are required to obtain permits. 

You could go through our suggested trekking equipment, this is a short trek so just consult with us before packing. Essential items include sturdy trekking shoes, warm layers, a rain jacket, sunscreen, a hat, and a camera.

Poon Hill is located at 3,210 meters (10,531 feet). Altitude sickness is unlikely on this trek as it remains below 3,500 meters, which is the usual threshold for such issues.
