Early age and Education
Saroj Neupane, Managing Director of Beyond the Limits Treks and Expedition, was born in the remote mountains, an isolated village in Baseri ward no 6 Ganga Jamuna Rural Municipality Dhading Bagmati province, which lies famous Manaslu Circuit trek and Ruby Valley Trek. Due to the location of his birthplace, He took his Primary school education at a Local school distance of about 45 minutes walking one way and took his school education at Badri Visal Higher Secondary School. Going to school from Home takes about one hour and 30 minutes. Every day he walked 3 hours to go to school and return. Saroj Neupane was perhaps destined to become a highly reputed trekking guide over the years. However, at his parent’s insistence, Saroj focused on his academic career, He came to Kathmandu the capital of Nepal where a lot of colleges and Universities are available. He joined Tribhuvan University graduating with a degree in Commerce from Nepal’s biggest educational institution – Tribhuvan University.
The Beginning of a Trekking Career
The road to success in this part of the world is always a thorny one. Saroj works different sectors in the early days in Kathmandu such as a waiter, bartender, Bell boy, and supervisor in the export company Saroj Neupane began his first arduous journey on the thorny trails of life in 1994 as a trekking supporter, carrying a trekker's bag. His first job was also juggled with his studies to help ease the financial strain on his parents. With hard work and an innovative knack for discovering new trails for trekkers, Saroj soon graduated into becoming a full-fledged trekking guide by the year’s end in 1995, leading large groups and individual trekkers.
A Breakthrough Expedition in 1997
Saroj Neupane’s big break came in 1997 when he successfully led a British team from the Lancashire Mountaineering Club to Island Peak and Pokalde Peak, including two big passes – Cho La and Khungma La. Saroj has done an alpine trek to Rolwaling – Amphu Lapcha, Renjo La, Tent Peak, and Chulu Far East. In 2000, Saroj organized and led another expedition to Chulu Far East Peak with repeat guests from the Lancashire Mountaineering Club. This period coincided with a long-cherished dream when Saroj founded his own company, Beyond The Limits Trekking P. Ltd, leading this expedition as a well-established tourism entrepreneur with a profound love for the great Himalayas and nature.
Leading Treks Across Nepal's Famous Trails
Since founding Beyond the Limits Treks, Saroj Neupane has led trekking groups across Nepal’s most famous trails, including Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Base Camp, Langtang Valley, the Annapurna Circuit, Lower and Upper Dolpo, Upper Mustang, the Dhaulagiri Circuit, Manaslu Circuit, Makalu Base Camp, Kangchenjunga Base camp North and south , Ganesh Himal, Ruby Valley, Arun Valley, and more. Saroj is one of the few experts who have covered all of Nepal’s renowned circuits, ensuring his clients receive the best trekking experiences on offer.
Active Leadership and Industry Involvement
Despite being the founder and Managing Director, Saroj didn’t settle for sitting behind a desk. He continues to lead trekking groups himself whenever required, even though his team of proficient guides can handle the guests. As a reward for his dedication, Saroj was elected to the Executive Committee of the Trekking Agents Association of Nepal (TAAN) for three years from 2011-2013. Additionally, he has been nominated by the Nepal Government and the Nepal Mountaineering Association to serve on the Peak Profile Committee. Saroj created one new sport in Nepal Taan International Eco challenge in 2011. Which was a very popular and successful Tourism event in Nepal
International Business Promotion
In addition to operating in Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan, Saroj has traveled globally to promote Nepal as a world-class destination for high-altitude adventures. He has undertaken business promotion trips to South Africa representative of the Nepal government likewise he went for a tourism promotion campaign in England, Scotland, Wales, Turkey, France, Holland, Belgium, Thailand, India China, and Dubai to increase awareness of Nepalese tourism and build international relationships.
Humanitarian and Social Work
Saroj Neupane was actively involved in earthquake relief missions in partnership with V-MED from Belgium during the devastating 2015 earthquake. He has also been engaged in various social activities, focusing on marginalized communities in trekking regions, as he believes in giving back to the people who live in the areas he visits with his trekking guests.
